COOPERATION / WHAT TO CONSIDER
  
WEM's desk officers are always available to give you advice and service, whether in writing, by telephone or personally. In the interest of partners overseas, cooperating with WEM will be particularly timesaving and efficient if you consider the following points:

• It is useful to contact WEM even before funds have been approved for a particular project, so that we can help calculate the expected costs. 
• 
  The sooner WEM is contacted the easier it is to find the technical and economical solution to the problems, in collaboration with the partner overseas.
• 
  The more precise details are given by the customer about the scope and the exact specification of equipment needed, the easier it will be for WEM to submit a rapid suggestion as to how to solve the problem.
• 
  Order execution and the right selection of material becomes much easier if the customer gives details on possible exemption from tax and duty and on local maintenance and repair facilities.
• 
  It is of special importance to give detailed shipping instructions.
• 
  Detailed requirement lists should be provided, unless WEM is being asked to make its own suggestions as to how to equip the project in part or as a whole.
• 
  To be able to obtain answers to technical and other questions, direct contact with the partner overseas should be possible, keeping the donor organization informed at the same time.
• 
  The question of financing should be raised and settled before any order is placed to avoid unnecessary delays in delivery.
